The FFA Chapter was chartered in 1939 as Hamshire-New Holland FFA, now the Hamshire-Fannett FFA Chapter with over 250 members! We have three Agricultural, Food, and Natural Resource Teachers(Ag Teachers), Mr. Brad Bertrand, Ms. Brooke Cuniff, and Mr. Dillon Telger

Our FFA members are widely diversified and some participate in showing livestock at the South Texas State Fair as well as the State Fair of Texas(Dallas), Fort Worth Stock Show, San Antonio Stock Show, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Raising livestock projects requires an enormous amount of commitment and responsibility. It should be considered a family project with the responsibility resting on the FFA member to feed, care, and raise the animal for the exhibition. Raising animal projects is not a requirement, but is an excellent way to develop responsibility, solid character traits, and have fun along the way!

Along with exhibiting livestock our FFA members may choose to compete in a Leadership Development Event such as Chapter Conducting, Radio Broadcasting, Ag Issues Forum, Public Relations Presentation, Job Interview, Public Speaking, and/ or Farm Skills or they may choose to participate in a Career Development Event such as Livestock Judging, Floriculture, Landscape, Poultry Judging, Horse Judging, and Veterinary Science to name a few.
